This significant Canberra project includes an aircraft maintenance hangar, hangar workshops and offices, and a VIP reception terminal.

No. 34 Squadron RAAF, which is responsible for the operations of the RAAF’s VIP transport aircraft that are used to transport Australian officials such as the Prime Minister, cabinet ministers, the Governor General, the leader of the opposition and high ranking defence force officers when travelling both internationally or within Australia.

The maintenance hangar has an impressive clear span of over 90m, a height of over 25m, and is capable of housing all five Commonwealth Government RAAF VIP aircraft at the one time.

The two storey hangar annex accommodates the administrative and workshop functions of the facility. As a modern and contemporary building it sits comfortably in its surrounds through the incorporation of white aluminum panels to the offices and workshops clad in red steel cladding, reflecting the red brickwork banding of the adjacent heritage-listed hangars.
