Sherwood Road Bus Depot is the first industrial building in Australia to achieve a 5-star Green Design rating. It was built from sustainable material, including recycled materials and low embedded energy materials.
The depot also boasts a fully-integrated water management system, which uses recycled and harvested rainwater that will reduce the mains water usage by 70%, saving $22,000 per year.
Other initiatives include solar reflectivity and shading, passive solar cooling and heating, and natural ventilation.
