This new Depot plays a critical role in providing a first-class public transport system to the City of Brisbane
In 2009, Telstra Super invested in the Sherwood Road Bus Depot, in Brisbane’s southeast. The fund was a key investor in the facility through financing its development, and then taking ownership of it on completion.
The depot was officially opened by Brisbane’s Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, on Tuesday 21 February 2012.
The depot plays a critical role in providing a first-class public transport system to the city, a long term commitment of Brisbane City Council, originally promised by then-Lord Mayor, Campbell Newman.
Sherwood Road Bus Depot was also the first industrial building in Australia to achieve a 5-star Green Design rating.
It is home to 200 buses and plays a key role in Brisbane’s public transport system.
